Welcome to the North American Theoretical Archaeology Group hub.
PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE FOR 2016.
The theme of the next North American TAG is Bolder Theory. TAG will be hosted by the Department of Anthropology at University of Colorado Boulder from the 22-24 April 2016
The Theoretical Archaeology Group (TAG) has been debating archaeological theory since 1979. TAG was started by the Universities of Sheffield, Cambridge and Southampton in the UK and still holds a thriving and active conference every December at different sites in the UK.
In 2008 TAG-NYC marked the arrival of TAG in the USA. This meeting, held at Columbia University in New York was followed by TAG at Stanford University in 2009. Since then meetings have been held at Brown, UC Berkeley, SUNY Buffalo, Chicago and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
TAG-USA runs in tandem with the British Tag meetings and with TAG's Scandinavian offshoot, Nordic TAG.
